Assimilation of new technology of 3D design in KITNG LLP
At the beginning of 2016, the management of Kazakh Institute of Oil and Gas Transport LLP made a decision to assimilate BIM technology, also known as the technology of informational 3D design.
Facility general view:
Main criteria for the transition to BIM technology are:
- Enhancement of performance and efficiency;
- Improvement of rendered services quality;
- Continuous development of the company in line with global requirements to applied technologies;
To implement this decision, the BIM design team was formed in May 2016 that included the specialists of each design department of the company. Then during 3 weeks the specialists of BIM team were stage-by-stage passing the basic training course on 3D modelling software. After that they started to apply 3D modelling in practice and assimilate new design technology.
Fire Extinguishing Pump Station:
Production facility selected by the company management to be implemented as the first design was Reconstruction of Diesel Fuel Storage that included all main tags of subdivisions as follows:
- THO – technology, tags TH, TK;
- EC&I – automatics, tags SS, PS, AK, OS, GS, EHZ, APT;
- ETD – energetics, tags: EL, ES;
- SHD – sanitary and hygienic department, tags: OV, VK, PT, TM, TS, NVK;
- ACD – architectural and construction department, tags: AR, AS, KZ, KM (enhanced KMD);
- GL – general layout department;
- Job setup for SM Department.
Oil Product Pump Station:
After the presentation, the company management decided to start the second stage of pilot design.
Its aim was full and comprehensive preparation of the design in 3D and further issuance of full set of design estimate documentation based on the made model. Follow our news, after the completion of design we will share our achievements and successes.
